I want you to remember how it felt.

Warm, grainy, quietly cinematic wedding photography. Based in Alberta — photographing weddings in Edmonton, Calgary, the Rockies, and wherever the day takes us.

Weddings go fast. Ask anyone who's had one. You spend a year planning the thing and then suddenly you're in the car on the way home and your shoes are off and you're trying to hold onto all of it at once.

My job is to make sure you can.

I photograph weddings for couples who care more about how the day felt than how it photographed. Who want their images to feel like memory — soft around the edges, a little grainy, honest in the middle. The laugh from across the room. The way the light was coming through the window when you put your dress on. The look your person gave you when no one else was watching.

Those are the ones I'm chasing.

What it's actually like to work with me

Before the day

From the moment you book, you have me. Outfit help for your engagement session if you want it, a timeline built around the light and the moments that actually matter, and a real person on the other end of your questions. I've shot enough weddings to know what tends to come up on a wedding day, and enough to quietly take care of it before you ever notice.

On the day

I move slow and I pay attention. I'll prompt you when you need it and vanish when you don't. My favourite photos from every wedding I've ever shot are the ones no one noticed me taking. If something goes wrong — and sometimes something does — I'm the calm one in the corner with a safety pin and usually a joke.

After

A sneak peek within a week, because you’ll want one. Your full gallery within six to eight weeks. Every image hand-edited by me, because no one else is getting near them.

Investment &
Packages

Wedding collections start at $6,200 CAD and include full-day coverage and a gallery of hand-edited images, delivered in a private online gallery with unlimited high-resolution downloads. Engagement sessions are included in most collections, and available as an add-on for the shorter ones.

Elopements and intimate weddings under 30 guests have their own collection, starting at $3,800.

Kind Words

"If you want wedding shots that look like they belong in a Vogue magazine, look no further. I had a meltdown at my wedding and she came and talked me through it when I could not talk to anyone else. Just book her — it'll be the best decision of your life."

— Wahaj & Omar

"Sara has a way of capturing these blissful and magical moments even when chasing three little ones feels like chaos. I don't know how she does it, but she's incredible."

— Megan & Jo

"You may feel silly during the shoot, or feel it didn't go the way you anticipated — but when you receive your gallery, you can't believe all the shots she got. I keep trying to find excuses to hire Sara again."

— Julia

A note from Sara

Hi. I'm Sara.

I live in St. Albert with my partner and our two kids, plus more groceries than any sane person needs. I cook too much food, I read slower than everyone I know, and I am, for better or worse, a person who lives a little in the past.

I've been photographing people for fifteen years — in a lot of different rooms, in a lot of different countries, through some of the hardest and most beautiful moments a person can have. That work is where I learned how to pay attention. It's the reason I photograph the way I do.

Good to know

    • This is easily the question I get asked the most. After you book, I'll send you a style guide with colour palettes, outfit inspiration, and things I've learned about what photographs well in the kind of light I'm drawn to. My best advice: wear something that feels like you. The photos last longer than any trend, and they're better when you look like yourself. Bring a second option if you're torn, we'll figure it out together.

    • For a full wedding day, plan on at least forty hand-edited images for every hour I shoot. Your engagement session will be a minimum of forty. I'm not in the business of holding great photos back, if it's worth keeping, it's in your gallery.

  • You'll have a sneak peek within a week of your wedding — a small set of images you'll want to share before the rest is ready. Your full gallery arrives within six to eight weeks for weddings, two to three weeks for sessions. I don't rush edits. These are your memories, and they deserve the time.

  • Everything arrives in a private online gallery. You can download high-resolution files, share them with family, and order prints directly through the gallery if you want to. The gallery is yours to keep.

  • Often and happily. I photograph weddings all over Alberta — Edmonton, Calgary, St. Albert, the Rockies, the prairies, the in-between. I've shot across Western Canada and I'm available wherever the day is. Travel is included within Alberta for full-day coverage; anything farther is quoted as part of the collection.

  • Most book anywhere from nine to eighteen months out. Peak summer and Rockies dates usually go first. If your date is sooner than that, reach out anyway — I keep a small number of dates open, and sometimes the stars align.

  • Most of my couples aren't. When people tell me they don't take good photos, I tell them not to worry — I do. I'll guide you with gentle prompts so you're not stuck thinking about the camera, and you'll be focused on each other, which is where the real photographs come from anyway. If you want to grab a drink with your person before the shoot, I fully support that.

  • I won't change how you look. I'll take care of temporary things — blemishes, a scrape, a bit of redness — and my editing has some skin softening built into it. If there's something you're self-conscious about, tell me and I'll keep it in mind while I'm shooting and editing. You should look like yourself, on your best day.

  • For weddings over 120 guests or with tight, multi-location timelines, I'll usually bring one in as an add-on. For most weddings, I shoot solo and prefer it that way — it keeps me closer to you, which is the whole point. If you're not sure what your day calls for, we'll talk it through.

  • Always. One of my favorite parts of being your photographer is getting to capture what comes next — first anniversaries, maternity, newborn sessions, family milestones. I'd love to keep telling your story with you.

  • You'll hear from me within 48 hours. I'll send my full pricing guide, a few questions about your day, and if it feels like a fit, we'll jump on a short video call. I want to meet you before you book me. You should want to meet me too.

  • Yes. That’s what the inquiry form is for.

If any of this sounds like your wedding
— I'd love to hear about it.
